Manos Morenas
Housed in a 20th-century villa surrounded by landscaped gardens, Manos Morenos is both a traditional Creole restaurant and a lively peña folklórica (a folklore-inspired music club). The restaurant is decorated with bright-yellow walls and simple wooden furniture, with additional seating available outside on the veranda. Served by a staff wearing colorful head-wraps, menu specialties include ají de gallina (chili chicken in a spicy cream sauce) and lomo saltado (stir-fried beef marinated in spices, vinegar, and soy sauce). Wednesday through Saturday, the peña hosts Afro-Peruvian performances by resident dancers and musicians, as well as touring companies like the Ballet Perú Negro.
