Blackie Christian at Little Ochie has been serving up seafood at this Aligator Pond spot since 1989. The thatched-roof shacks (some made from old boats), painted in bold colors, sit on the black sands overlooking the bay. The flavorful food is cooked to order over wood fires and includes fried, steamed, roasted, or brown stewed fish served with bammy (cassava flatbread) and festivals (sweet corn meal fritters). Other dishes include Jamaican lobster, seapuss (octupus), conch, jerk chicken or shrimp, and escoveitch fish, which has been marinated in vinegar sauce spiced with habaneros and allspice.
