Le Verre Volé
Just down from the scenic canal Saint-Martin, Le Verre Vole is a combination wine shop and restaurant serving wine by the glass and a selection of small plates. The tiny eatery seats fewer than 20 people, and carefully selected bottles of wine from France’s major regions and small producers line the walls. Bottles can be bought to enjoy in the shop for a corkage fee or you can choose a by-the-glass option. The menu, hand-written on a chalkboard, heavily emphasizes seasonal ingredients and includes items like artisan cheeses, terrine de campagne, foie gras, and heirloom tomato salad. Dinner reservations are a wise move as seating is limited, but if you come early (around 7 or 8 p.m.), you might snag a table.
