Le Salon d'Helene
Tapas-style dining is the mark of Le Salon d'Hélène, as is the southwest France cuisine created by the salon’s Basque chef-owner Hélène Darroze, who comes from a family of hotel and restaurant owners. Cloth-covered tables span the wood plank floor, some placed along the banquette with large toss pillows and others with burgundy and tangerine chairs. This bistro within the Sixth Arrondissement offers both lunch and tasting menus with seasonal produce, meat, and fish, as well as a selection of fine cheeses. A chocolate-based dessert is always available.

Melker Andersson and Danyel Couet, the team behind the Michelin-starred Fredsgatan 12, have brought a very un-Swedish sensibility—vivid colors, extravagantly rich cuisine—to Old Town. The restaurant is gilded and grandiose, its menu packed with high-ticket items like truffles and Champagne.
We loved: Arctic char poached with Champagne and topped with trout roe.
