This super-popular French café gets as packed as a Kings Cross brothel when the ships are in (as the old Sydney saying goes), especially during the breakfast rush. The reason: probably the best eggs Benedict in town, served only on weekends, with warm fresh brioche and an extra-tangy house-made hollandaise. The bowl-size cups of café au lait and the brusque, slightly attitudey staff might make you forget you’re not in Paris.
Tip: Show up by 9 a.m. if you want your choice of breakfast tables. By 10:30 the place is mobbed.
