Set on one of the sweetest little streets in the city, next to a row of London-style terrace houses and across from an old-school convenience store, the pint-size Montée has been wooing in-the-know locals with its forward-thinking (and remarkably affordable) degustation menus for a handful of years. On any given night, you might choose from scallops wrapped in pancetta with a sweet-pea cream, pork loin with truffle emulsion and bacon, or lightly pickled mackerel with smoked potato and crème fraîche.
Insider Tip: End the meal with a sweet dessert. Despite the restaurant’s name, the cheese menu at Montée can be disappointing.
