Kaotan
Located on the edge of Aoyama National Cemetary, Kaotan Ramen has a notably shabby exterior and simple interior: a long, worn wooden table and benches across from an enclosed kitchen with an order window. The chef is more focused on the ramen, made with a recipe brought from China (according to the handwritten menu) and reputed to be one of the best in town. The noodle house is a favorite with late-night revelers (it's open until 4:30 a.m.) and also serves pot stickers and pickled vegetables. Credit cards are not accepted, so be sure to carry some cash.
