Jun-I
Located in the city's Mile End district, Jun-I serves fresh fish and inventive Japanese-style dishes from namesake chef Junichi Ikematsu. The menu strays far from bento boxes with dishes like the half lobster with pan-seared artichokes, Peking duck with foie gras, and shiromi bruschetta (sliced European sea bass, basil, and tomatoes topped with a fennel vinaigrette). And not even the sushi at Jun-I can be called standard: the B-52 maki roll is topped with Rice Crispies while another roll, the Kani age épicé, pairs crab with Cajun spices and soya caramel.
