An array of sophisticated venues occupying one space, the Bazaar by José Andrés is a sprawling "indoor piazza" named one of America’s best new restaurants. The brainchild of celebrated DC-area chef Andrés, the Bazaar features two dining spaces, a bar, select retail offerings, a dessert room, and roving gourmet food carts. Look for matadors on the walls and plenty of red accents in the Rojo dining section, while the modern white-hued area is called Blanca. Swanky Bar Centro—fast becoming an "it" place—offers inventive cocktails and a downright-weird menu. Patisserie’s sweets and chef-manned vendor carts round out the food offerings, but don't stop there: You can shop the glass cases throughout the Bazaar and purchase luxury gifts from Assouline or Baccarat crystal goods.
