Adjacent to the La Jolla Playhouse, Jai (pronounced jay) is a Wolfgang Puck chain restaurant open only on performance nights and for special events. The modern glass-and-light exterior gives Jai a chic vibe. The modernity continues inside as large white orbs hang overhead in a stark space. Menus are often created to match the evening’s show theme and may include dishes such as crab pot stickers and Shanghai lobster with plum curry sauce and crispy spinach. After 8 p.m. diners can take advantage of the affordable three-course prix fixe dinner.
