A Honolulu institution, the Willows was founded by Kathleen Perry and her husband, Al, on July 4, 1944 to help Kathleen’s family maintain their property during the tough economic times of World War II. The restaurant has an open air dining area comprised of numerous pavilions nestled amidst tropical plants, Hawaiian flowers, ponds, and waterfalls. Dining is buffet style, and chef Jay Matsukawa prepares traditional Hawaiian specialties, including ahi poke and lomi lomi salmon, as well as the restaurant’s famous shrimp and chicken curries. Live music and Hawaiian entertainment are featured nearly every night.
