From the May 2008 Food & Wine Go List
Cuban expats adore Islas Canarias, located near Little Havana (there's a slightly fancier outpost in West Dade). The place serves some of Miami's best ropa viejo, a tender shredded beef stew whose name translates to "old clothes." That's invariably followed by thimblefuls of cafĂ© cubano—sweet black espresso—and caramel-soaked flan.
We loved: Succulent arroz con pollo, available on Sundays and Tuesdays.
