Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria
A spin-off of the downtown restaurant Il Buco, this combination café, wine bar, deli and take-out shop is one of the city’s most exciting new Italian restaurants. Breads and salumi (all made in house) are available in the grocery in the front, along with imported cheeses, pastas and dry goods. In the back, chef Justin Smillie cooks three meals a day, creating delicious rustic Italian dishes that include a crispy, honey-and-lemon drizzled fried rabbit, short ribs with a thick crust of coriander and peppercorns, and a handful of simple pastas, like spaghetti with a bottarga sauce and a textbook bucatini alla gricia (pecorino, pepper and cured pork jowl).
