Harry's Café de Wheels
A fixture in Sydney since 1938, this small pie cart along the wharf in Woolloomooloo has been, and continues to be, a gathering spot for a cross-section of Sydney society. Both the working class and the wealthy visit Harry’s to sample its famous meat pies. The cart’s signature pie, the Harry’s Tiger, is a beef pie topped with mushy peas, mashed potatoes, and gravy. Additional offerings include chicken, seafood, and vegetable pies, as well as hot dogs, added to the menu in the 1970’s to attract business from American sailors. The cart is open until the wee hours, making it a popular stop for the late night crowd.
