A welcome lunch break when shopping in Ginza, this restaurant serves kaiseki, multicourse meals of small, traditional dishes. The emphasis is on presentation, seasonal ingredients, and exquisite service. Sit at the counter and watch as Kansai-trained chef Okamoto prepares the courses in front of you. Meals run through the typical kaiseki courses—variations on miso and other soups, sashimi, grilled fish, pickled vegetables, a hot dish, and dessert—about nine courses in all, each a pleasure for the eyes and for the palate, and meticulously designed to create a balance of colors and origins (land, sea, mountains). The menu changes constantly, so returning is always a novelty.
