Opened in 2002 at the Hackney City Farm, Frizzante Café serves rustic Italian cuisine using fresh seasonal ingredients from local farms. Popular with young families, the East End eatery has a high ceiling, community tables topped with red checkered tablecloths, an old piano, and a bustling open kitchen. In addition to hearty English breakfast fare available all day, the café serves a lunch menu that changes weekly and may include dishes like risotto with Tuscan sausage, butternut squash, and rosemary. Every Thursday, Frizzante stays open late for the agriturismo (farm holiday) supper, which incorporates produce from the farm’s own gardens.
