Dapper in black tie attire for more than 100 years, the famous tuxedo-clad waiters at this legendary Fourth District restaurant have been serving Austrian specialties — in high style — since Johann Figlmüller opened for business in 1905. Of the 12 main courses on an old fashioned chalkboard menu, Wiener Schnitzel is the top draw. Tourists make a beeline to Figlmüller for breaded pork which is pounded thin, fried, and served with one of several popular salads (potato is the traditional favorite). Trademark oversized portions are larger than plates, typically hanging over the edges. There is no beer in sight; instead, wines take the spotlight.
