<p>Vieques's best-loved casual beach shack, set right on the malecón in the beachfront town of Esperanza, is the perfect place to while away an afternoon. Owned by Mikey Duffy (whose father, Hugh, helms the equally popular Chez Shack in the more northerly community of Pilon), Duffy's has blue banquettes perpetually stuffed with hungry sunbathers, who come for upscale bar food—yummy crab cakes, veggie burgers, addictively good fried calamari—and the jocular vibe.</p> <p><strong>Tip:</strong> Rough night? Try one of Duffy's piquant Bloody Marys—they're locally famous for their revivifying properties.</p>
