Chez Shack
Located slightly off the beaten path in Vieques, Chez Shack is an eclectic, albeit wildly popular, restaurant housed in an unassuming pink shack. Owned by Hugh Duffy, who helped launch the career of 1960’s musical group the Mamas and the Papas, Chez Shack is known around the island for its grill night, held each Monday evening, when the atmosphere is enhanced by the addition of live reggae music. Most nights, specialties include chicken and beef dishes, as well as the restaurant’s famous baked crab cakes. Menu items are scrolled across a chalkboard for diners to review.
