Café Playa Negra
Cloe, Maia, Andrea and Carlos Velardes, a family of Peruvian surfers, came to Playa Negra on the north Pacific coast in search of “peace, nature and great waves.” Astonished by the clean water, year-round warmth, and constant waves, they decided to stay and establish an under-the-radar surfing resort. The hotel contains six rustic rooms with high ceilings, fans, and large windows connected by large terrace overlooking the pool. After riding the waves at the eight surrounding beaches, surfers can fill up on Peruvian-Costa Rican fusion dishes like grilled mahi with fried plantains, cilantro seafood rice, and tuna tartare at the restaurant.
