A few blocks west of Moore Park in Sydney’s Surry Hills neighborhood, chef Yoni Kalfus serves modern takes on traditional Middle Eastern and North African dishes like pomegranate lamb fillet, ras el hanout spiced chicken, and Tunisian tuna salad. But it’s the breakfast dishes, especially the couscous with poached dry fruit, honey, yoghurt, and pistachios, that generates the long lines out the door on weekends. Space in the mint-smelling interior is limited, with seating at narrow, wood tables along the walls.
