The light-gray siding and sconce-lit green front door make Café Minh look more like a house than a Canal Street restaurant—even the interior has the low-key comfort of white-clothed tables boasting fresh flowers, beneath soft lighting from the high ceilings. Chefs Minh Bui and Cynthia VuTran (a husband-wife team from Vietnam) produce light fare that fuses French, Vietnamese, and Creole cuisines. Signature dishes include Minh’s bouillabaisse (poached mussels, shrimp, scallops, fish, and angel hair pasta in saffron broth), pho, and blackened jumbo scallop salad. Beyond the usual beverages, the drink menu also offers numerous hot and cold teas.
