This tearoom occupies the former dining room (and terrace) of the splendid 19th-century Jacquemart-André Museum. Constructed and decorated in the tradition of Haussman's redesigned Paris, this former private home of art devotees Edouard André and Nélie Jacquemart now houses an art museum owned by the Institut de France. An elegant place for a bite, the museum's Cafe offers dining beneath a Tiepolo ceiling in a room adorned with Brussels tapestries (or outdoors on a lovely covered terrace). The Cafe serves pastries, a popular Sunday brunch, and light lunch fare like quiches and lobster terrine salads.
