Bobak Sausage Company
Founded by Polish immigrant Frank Bobak, this Chicago-based company has been manufacturing artisan sausages and deli meats since 1967. Inside a large brick building in Garfield Ridge, only one mile from Midway Airport, the company’s deli and marketplace houses a small café frequented by locals and visitors just off the plane. Patrons can purchase prepared sausages (the kielbasa is a favorite) or opt for the 30-item buffet featuring homemade Polish specialties such as pierogi (fried potato dumplings). A handful of tables allow for indoor dining.
