BLT Steak, Isla Verde
The first noncontinental U.S. outpost of chef Laurent Tourondel's BLT empire, this tony steak house is set inside San Juan's Ritz-Carlton hotel. If you've been to the original Manhattan incarnation, you'll find that the décor and menu here are identical: the same textured suede walls and earth-toned palate; the same signature dishes (fluffy popovers to start, homey sides like potatoes au gratin and creamed spinach); the same top-notch porterhouses, rib eyes, and Kobe strip steaks—all served family style.
Tip: If you want a reminder that you're in Puerto Rico, the tropical-themed cocktails (e.g. kiwi martinis) are the single nod to the restaurant's Caribbean location.
