Creative American cuisine is the focus at Magazine Street's Bistro Daisy, named in honor of the owners's daughter. Anton and Diane Shulte turned this yellow, Civil War-era shotgun cottage into one of the Uptown area's most romantic spots—complete with fairy lights outside. The simply-appointed dining room allows diners to focus their attention where it should be, namely on dishes like grilled sweetbreads with brown butter viniagrette and handmade Louisiana crawfish ravioli. Top off the evening with one of their prized desserts: the brûléed arborio rice pudding with fresh strawberries is a favorite.
