Just east of Old Pasadena, this locally inspired French bistro is housed in a restored Art Deco building dating from 1939. Classic jazz music plays in the dining rooms, which are furnished with hardwood floors, copper light fixtures, and small decorative mirrors. During the warmer months, a retractable roof opens over the adjacent patio. The ever-changing menu includes small plates, such as black mussel tagliatelle with Napa cabbage slaw, as well as full-size entrées like the grilled pork chop with parsnip purée, port-roasted prunes, and violet-mustard jus. The bistro also hosts monthly wine dinners, showcasing selections from the 800-label cellar.
