Billy Goat Tavern

430 N. Michigan Avenue , River North
Chicago , Illinois
312-222-1525

Immortalized by the 1970's Saturday Night Live skit in which a short-order cook (John Belushi) screamed “Cheezborger! Cheezborger! No fries, cheeps! No Pepsi, Coke!," the Billy Goat Tavern remains a Chicago landmark, and its cooks still perform the same rant for streams of locals and tourists alike. Located across from the Chicago Tribune building, the haunt used to be a lunch stop for Windy City journalists including Mike Royko, Roger Ebert, and Dave Condon. Today, their photographs and newspaper clippings adorn the bar's “Wall of Fame.”

Tip: Remember SNL when you place your order; they really don't have fries or Pepsi.

Signature Dish: The Double Cheeseburger.
