Biga, one of the few upscale dining options in downtown San Antonio, specializes in contemporary American cuisine prepared by chef Bruce Auden. Located in the nondescript International Center Building on the St. Mary's Street bridge, Biga overlooks the Riverwalk, where the San Antonio River has been diverted and tamed to create a busy, pedestrian-friendly area. Inside, the decor is characterized by dim lighting, hanging single bulb fixtures, shower curtain-like window treatments, and modern paintings. Menu standouts include 11-spice Axis venison and grilled quail served with parsnip puree, as well as the always-popular Sticky Toffee Pudding with English custard.
