Beach House, Cardiff-by-the-Sea
An offshoot of the original Beach House restaurant in Laguna Beach, the Beach House in Cardiff by the Sea opened in 1993 and was designed by architect James Hubbell to resemble a coastal Mediterranean estate. The restaurant has three distinct areas: the main dining room, the Top of the House grill and bar, and two heated patios near the shore. The menu, created by chef Michael Ingino, is heavy in seafood dishes, such as crab stuffed filet of sole and hoisin glazed salmon, but also includes steaks and chicken. Sunset specials are available daily from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
