From the May 2008 Food & Wine Go List

Following its redesign by Andrée Putman, this once-demure French restaurant now looks like a whimsical art gallery. Chef Walter Manzke expertly prepares an international menu, ranging from Thai tom kha soup to Italian burrata and tomato salad. His wife, Margarita, is the pastry chef; her bacon brioche is sensational.

We loved: Roast duck with creamy potato gratin.

Insider tip: Request a table on the lavender-lined patio, one of the loveliest in L.A.
