Located in the Ninth Ward, Bacchanal offers a multi-sensory experience. The wine store and wine bar is located beyond this aged brick building's green entrance, and offers more than 400 wines alongside a refrigerator of meats and cheeses. Customers take their wine and cheese out to the shaded courtyard, which is lit by strings of large bulbs and serves as both a live music venue and dining area for the outdoor bistro—or rather, chef Joaquin Rodas' grill and cluster of tables where he serves steak frites and chorizo-stuffed dates on paper plates. Bacchanal's popularity increased after it appeared in an episode of HBO's Tremes.
