Established by tea aficionado Gail Baral in 1997, Algabar is an online retailer specializing in blended teas. Inspired by her travels around the globe, Baral created the Algabar Tea Collection, an assortment of 30 distinctive teas, many of which are organic, fair trade, and biodynamic. In addition to white, green, black, and herbal teas, Algabar offers blooming teas, which unfurl in the teapot, and Yerba maté, a South American tea containing an alternative to caffeine. Baral also hosts special events in the L.A. area, including workshops on tea appreciation, cooking with tea, and meditation with tea.
