Ajax Tavern
Popular with skiers because of its location at the base of Aspen Mountain, Ajax Tavern is known for its mountain views and bistro fare cooked with locally raised meats and seasonal produce. The best views are from the restaurant’s large patio; but the dining room—with wood floors and large picture windows—also has a number of tables overlooking the local mountains. Menu selections include Colorado lamb bolognese, chanterelle and leek quiche, and the Ajax double cheeseburger with truffle fries. The tavern serves local microbrews and specialty cocktails such as the Ajax Apple, with vanilla-infused rum and hot, locally made cider.
