A Passage to India

<p>Seriously good Indian cuisine is often found in the most unlikely places here, so ignore Passage to India's location in a busy strip mall in downtown Ocho Rios—its location belies the tranquil rooftop setting with views of the sea. Moghul-style hanging lamps, ocher-toned table coverings, and a tented cigar bar give the place an air of unexpected exoticism. The owners are Indian émigrés who manage to reproduce both the flavors and aromas of the subcontinent in dishes like<em> hara murg</em> (chicken marinated with mint and coriander), <em>saag mutton</em> in a creamy spinach sauce, and chicken <em>mumtaz </em>in cashew-nut gravy. </p> <p><strong>Tip:</strong> Don't leave without trying at least one of the Indo-Chinese fusion dishes, like Sichuan-style shrimp. </p>
