A Casa Fox
Chef Melissa Fox, owner of A Casa Fox, honed her Latin cooking skills at the side of her mother, a native Nicaraguan. Her Lower East Side restaurant emerged as a result of her successful catering and prepared foods ventures, and Fox has earned a following among locals with her authentic Latin dishes. The specialty at A Casa Fox is, without a doubt, the empanadas, folded pastry pockets stuffed with fillings, such as spiced beef and tomato and pulled pork and caramelized onions. The dining room has a rustic Latin feel, with dim lighting, exposed brick walls, and wooden tables.
