The Wry Manhattan was created to honor Fritz Maytag, the San Francisco brewer and distiller behind Anchor Steam beer and Old Potrero single-malt rye whiskey.

  1. Ice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces rye
  3. 1 ounce Southern Comfort
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons grenadine
  5. Dash of Angostura bitters
  6. 2 dried sweet cherries on a pick
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rye, Southern Comfort, grenadine and bitters and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the dried cherries.
