This pineapple-and-ginger-flavored cocktail—inspired by a modern Vietnamese meal—contains pear brandy and mezcal for a kick of flavor.

1 1/4 ounces pear brandy
3/4 ounce mezcal
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 ounce chilled unsweetened pineapple juice
1/2 ounce Ginger Syrup
Ice cubes, plus crushed ice for serving
1 thin slice of fresh ginger and 2 pineapple leaves (optional), for garnish
How to Make It
In a cocktail shaker, combine the brandy, mezcal, lemon juice, pineapple juice and Ginger Syrup. Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake well. Strain the drink into a chilled crushed-ice-filled collins glass and garnish with the ginger slice and pineapple leaves.
