White Port and Tonic

  • SERVINGS: Makes 14 to 16 drinks

The quintas (wine estates) along Portugal's Douro River often serve this light cocktail to guests before dinner.

  1. One 750-milliliter chilled bottle white port
  2. 1 1/2 liters chilled tonic water
  3. Ice
  4. Mint leaves and lemon slices, for garnish
  1. In a pitcher, mix the white port with the tonic water. Pour into ice-filled highball glasses. Garnish each drink with a mint leaf and lemon slice.
