SERVINGS: Makes 1 Drink

In the summer, Kathy Casey likes to serve this aperitif alongside pitted fresh Bing cherries topped with goat cheese and slivered toasted almonds. When she makes the Vixen, she uses a channel knife to cut the lemon twist over the drink so the citrus oil spritzes onto the surface.

Ice
1 1/2 ounces vodka
3/4 ounce Aperol (bitter orange Italian aperitif)
1/2 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
1 lemon twist, for garnish

Fill a pint glass with ice. Add the vodka, Aperol and St-Germain and stir well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the lemon twist.
