Carousel Bar • New Orleans

This New Orleans classic was likely created in the 1930s by Walter Bergeron, who tended bar at the establishment that is today called the Carousel Bar.

Plus: Cognac

  • 1 ounce rye
  • 1 ounce dry vermouth
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters
  • 1 teaspoon Bénédictine
  • 1 lemon twist
    1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the twist. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with the twist.
