Tuscan Martini

Although mixologists typically stir martinis to keep them clear, Kathy Casey shakes hers, which adds bubbles and results in attractive ice shards on the surface of the drink. She likes to garnish this lemony martini with an olive that's been marinating with sliced lemons, garlic, olive oil and rosemary.

How to Make Brown Sugar

Ingredients

  • 1/4 ounce dry white vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce grappa
  • 1 lemon twist
  • Ice
  • 3 ounces vodka
  • 1 rosemary sprig and 1 olive skewered on a pick, for garnish

How to make this recipe

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the vermouth and grappa. Pinch the twist over the shaker and drop it in. Shake well, then discard the mixture. Fill the rinsed shaker with ice. Add the vodka and shake well. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with the rosemary sprig and skewered olive.
