At Tales of the Cocktail 2006, a cocktail festival held in New Orleans, Todd Thrasher entered the Bar Chef competition with this drink; although it's terrific, it lost. The drink now resides on the menu at PX.
Glassware Guide Cocktail Party
1 ounce pisco
1/2 ounce Velvet Falernum (clove-spiced liqueur)
3 ounces pineapple juice
1 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce Black Pepper Syrup
1 ounce chilled club soda
Pinch of freshly ground pepper, for garnish
How to Make It
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the soda and ground pepper; shake well. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Stir in the soda; garnish with the pepper.
