The Duke of Bedford

Co-owner Gabriel Stulman used to give a monthly dinner party at his Manhattan apartment, which he called the Blue Blood Café. The Duke of Bedford is a nod to the royal theme.

  1. 5 to 6 mint leaves, plus 1 mint sprig
  2. 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
  3. Ice cubes and Crushed ice
  4. 3 ounces manzanilla sherry
  5. 3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
  6. 1 ounce chilled aranciata (Italian orange soda) or Orangina
  7. 1 cucumber wheel
  1. In a pint glass, muddle the mint leaves with the Simple Syrup. Add ice cubes and the sherry, bitters and aranciata. Stir well and strain into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with the mint sprig and cucumber wheel.
