  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/2 cup oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes, drained
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar
  • Pinch of ground cloves
  • Pinch of ground ginger
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • 1/2 small yellow onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Salt

How to make this recipe

  1. Combine the apple juice, tomatoes, brown sugar, vinegar, cloves, ginger, cayenne, onion and garlic in a blender and blend until fairly smooth. Transfer the mixture to a medium saucepan. Season with salt and simmer over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until very thick and slightly darkened, about 15 minutes.

Make Ahead

The ketchup can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.


Best Uses On hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages.
