Sugar-Maple Smash

  • SERVINGS: Makes 1 drink

A smash is an old-fashioned style of drink that traditionally involves muddling (or "smashing") herbs and sometimes fruit.

  1. 2 lemon wedges
  2. Ice cubes, plus cracked ice
  3. 1 2/3 ounces Canadian whisky
  4. 1/4 ounce green Chartreuse
  5. 1/2 ounce unsweetened pineapple juice
  6. 1/4 ounce pure maple syrup
  7. 1 mint sprig, torn into large pieces, plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
  8. 1 pineapple chunk, for garnish
  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lemon wedges. Add ice cubes and all of the remaining ingredients except the cracked ice and garnishes and shake well. Strain into a cracked-ice-filled rocks glass. Garnish with the pineapple chunk and mint sprig and serve with a short straw.
