Stirred Sling

  • SERVINGS: makes 1 drink

For this boozy, deconstructed Singapore Sling, Julie Reiner removed all the juice (but added a lime twist garnish) and replaced the gin with two kinds of rum: spicy Zafra, from Panama, and Jamaican Appleton Estate Reserve, which has notes of berries and pineapple.

  1. 1 ounce aged rum, preferably Jamaican
  2. 1 ounce dark rum, preferably Zafra
  3. 1/2 teaspoon Bénédictine (brandy-based herbal liqueur)
  4. 1/2 teaspoon maraschino liqueur
  5. 1/2 teaspoon Grand Marnier
  6. 2 dashes of orange bitters
  7. 1 lime twist, for garnish
  1. Fill a pint glass with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and stir well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the lime twist.
