Stirred Sling
- SERVINGS: makes 1 drink
For this boozy, deconstructed Singapore Sling, Julie Reiner removed all the juice (but added a lime twist garnish) and replaced the gin with two kinds of rum: spicy Zafra, from Panama, and Jamaican Appleton Estate Reserve, which has notes of berries and pineapple.
- 1 ounce aged rum, preferably Jamaican
- 1 ounce dark rum, preferably Zafra
- 1/2 teaspoon Bénédictine (brandy-based herbal liqueur)
- 1/2 teaspoon maraschino liqueur
- 1/2 teaspoon Grand Marnier
- 2 dashes of orange bitters
- 1 lime twist, for garnish
- Fill a pint glass with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and stir well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the lime twist.
