Spiced Vanilla Ice Cream

  • SERVINGS: Makes about 14 ounces

Use this ice cream to make the Hot Buttered Rum cocktail.

  1. 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  2. 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  3. 4 ounces heavy cream
  4. 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  5. 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar
  6. 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  7. 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  8. 1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients. Cook, stirring frequently, until the sugars are dissolved, about 2 minutes. Remove from the heat and let cool. Refrigerate for up to 4 days; reheat before using.
