Soy-Ginger Marinade

This umami-rich marinade with toasted sesame oil and fresh ginger is chef Josiah Citrin’s twist on his mom’s classic honey-mustard marinade.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely grated
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated lemon zest
  • One 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and finely grated
  • Kosher salt
  • Pepper

How to make this recipe

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk all of the ingredients until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
