Solera Sidecar

Mixologist Joaquin Simo invented this take on the sidecar for a cocktail-pairing dinner hosted by the underground supper club New York Bite Club. He matched the nutty drink with fried sweetbreads.

  1. Ice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces brandy, preferably Spanish
  3. 3/4 ounce manzanilla sherry
  4. 1/2 ounce Licor 43 (citrus-and-vanilla-flavored liqueur)
  5. 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe.
